Welcome to Brede Works

Just north of Copenhagen, you'll find one of Denmark's best-preserved examples of industrial cultural heritage, Brede Works. The historic textile mill was founded in 1832 and for over a century functioned as a self-contained industrial community, where workers lived and worked on site, a story still told today through the beautifully preserved factory buildings, worker cottages, and manager's villas. The site is now part of the National Museum of Denmark and offers a fascinating glimpse into the country's transformation during the industrial era. A visit to Brede Works makes for a rewarding day trip that combines history, architecture, and nature.
